Most people experience massage differently. Your massage is unique to your experiences. However, here are a few common items one can expect when receiving a massage.

  • If it’s your first visit, arrive at least 15-20 minutes early to complete the necessary forms and discuss the process and what to expect from the first massage.
  • Your treatment session will take place in a warm, comfortable, quiet room on a heated massage table. Soft music may be played to help you relax. I have a wide range of music options, so if you have specific requests please let me know.
  • Massage is traditionally performed with the patient unclothed; however, it is entirely up to you what you want to wear. You can undress, or stayed dressed to your level of comfort.  You will be properly draped during the entire session for your warmth and comfort.
    • I will leave the room prior to your disrobing and invite you to lie on the table under the sheet/blanket before my re-entry. Your privacy and comfort are my priority.
  • A variety of organic oils, lotions, and gels are available including hypo-allergenic, nut-free, unscented, as well as scented.
    • I use a vegan, organic, hypo-allergenic massage creme. Its safe enough you could eat it, although I’m not sure why you would want to.
  • I offer scalp, head, and facial massage. A note on this service, your hair/makeup may be affected and you may wish to plan accordingly.

Additionally, here’s some tips to help you get the most out of your massage:

  • Avoid eating a heavy meal before the massage.
  • Whenever working with deep tissues, muscle soreness or tenderness may occur.  These effects may last a day or two.
  • Drinking water after the massage may help to flush out toxins that are released from muscles and properly rehydrate muscles, which can help to reduce muscle aches and stiffness after a massage. Water is available before and after every massage.
  • Stretching can help to prevent muscle aches and pain after a deep tissue massage.
  • Avoid strenuous activity after a massage.
  • You may feel drowsy after a massage, I invite you to take some extra time in the waiting room to “wake up” and collect yourself before returning to your day. It is advised to give yourself a few minutes before driving to ensure you are fully back in your body and ready to depart.
  • If you have long hair, it is recommended you bring hair-ties to bind your hair.
  • Relax and enjoy.
