Quick Summary for those who do not wish to read this long-ish message: Effective January 31st, I will be closing my massage practice to focus on family and new and exciting opportunities in my life.

What a wild, exciting and crazy year 2021 has been for us all.

As I reflect back on 2021 I am grateful for the lessons learned in the challenges of running a small business that relies on physical contact in the midst of a global pandemic. I have also learned that I have amazing clients who are understanding, patient, careful, attentive, compassionate, and trustworthy. I have been very fortunate to work with such amazing individuals on their paths to wellness.

If the pandemic has taught me anything, it’s the importance of being vigilant with safety protocols, keeping aware and in touch with those around me and with whom I come into contact with, and that even the best laid plans can sometimes fall short. In these moments, the universe cautions us to slow down and pay attention. And that surrounding ones self with loved ones makes even the darkest times a little bit brighter.

Looking ahead to 2022, I am faced with a real tough decision. Some of you already know, but I also work full time in the tech sector and have for many years. I have often bounced back and forth with the decision to retire from tech and build my healing business to sustain me and my family, or to reduce my business hours to free up mental and emotional capacity and personal time. I have not always been successful in creating a sustainable balance. Especially as my family has grown.

This past year my husband and I have welcomed three children into our lives, two infants (near toddlers now) and a teenager. Our teenager is heavily involved in sports and as those of you who are parents know, school sports schedules are demanding and jam-packed with events to provide the most enriching experience for young athletes. On top of his demanding schedule, our little ones are growing so fast and are demanding much greater attention and time [read: stamina]. To round out this incredibly busy year, I have been given an opportunity to work with a tech startup out of Portland, Oregon which I have accepted and will be starting the first week in January. It is a remote position—I am not moving away.

It is important to me to be present in my family’s lives, and to be available to them when I am needed. I can’t do that and try to run a business that takes most of my weekends away from home.

So a tough decision had to be made…

Effective January 31st, I will be closing my massage practice to focus my time and energies on my family, my new employment, and several passion projects I’ve been too busy to give space to. While I will no longer be offering massage services, I will be continuing to maintain my Energy Healing practice, my Reiki teaching, as well as introducing new energy healing practices, trainings, and launching new initiatives including co-writing a book, launching an intensive focused on the divine masculine, crafting leather goods, organic soaps, and a few other initiatives. As Rachel Maddow says “watch this space.”

I am so touched to have been a part of your lives, many of you for almost a decade. You were the best part of my massage practice. I wish you the very best in 2022 and beyond. I have included below amazingly talented healers that I have personally worked with, been worked on by, and trust whole heartedly to provide the best possible therapeutic services the valley has to offer.

May the road rise to meet you
May the wind be always at your back
May the sun shine warm upon your face
May the rain fall soft upon your fields
Until we meet again…
